Description
Carob Powder 20% is a natural ingredient obtained from the fruit of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua), containing 20% carob extract. It is produced by cleaning, crushing, roasting, and grinding the pods into a fine powder. Carob Powder has a light brown color, a sweet, chocolate-like taste, and a mild aroma reminiscent of milk chocolate. It is commonly used as a cocoa alternative in baking, confectionery, and beverages.
Technical aspects
Carob Powder has a particle size of 98% < 75 microns and a specific weight of 550 kg/m³. It contains less than 4% moisture, ~48% carbohydrates, and ~40% dietary fiber, while total fat content is ≤1%. The product is free from allergens and GMOs, complies with EU food safety regulations, and is microbiologically safe (Salmonella and E. coli absent). Solubility in water is 50–60%, and pH ranges from 5 to 6.
Storage
Carob Powder has a shelf life of 18 months from the production date. Store in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight to preserve its quality.
