Description
Carob Powder 45% is a natural plant-based product made from the fruit of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua). It is produced by carefully cleaning, roasting, and finely grinding the pods into a reddish-brown powder. With its mildly sweet, cocoa-like flavor and pleasant aroma, it serves as a versatile ingredient in confectionery, bakery goods, and beverage production. The powder contains approximately 45% dietary fiber, making it a functional alternative to cocoa powder.
Technical aspects
Carob Powder 45% features a fine texture (98% < 75 microns) and bulk density of 550 kg/m³. It contains ~46% fiber, ~42% carbohydrates, and ≤1.5% fat, with moisture below 4%. The product is free from allergens and GMOs, complies with EU food safety standards, and is microbiologically safe (no Salmonella, E. coli, or coagulase-positive staphylococci detected). Water solubility is 40–50%, pH is 5–6, and energy value is 1220 kJ / 290 kcal per 100 g.
Storage
Carob Powder 45% has a shelf life of 18 months from the production date. Store in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight.
