Description

Food-grade lactose is a natural milk sugar obtained from cow’s milk. The product is a fine white or slightly yellowish powder with no odour or foreign taste. It is characterised by very high purity – the lactose content is at least 99%. This makes it widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries as a sweetener, carrier, stabiliser and filler.

Lactose powder is characterised by excellent solubility and a neutral sensory profile, which makes it suitable for use in recipes that require the highest quality. Milk sugar powder is used, among other things, in the production of bakery products, dairy products, confectionery, dietary supplements and as a carrier for flavours and lactic acid bacteria cultures.

Technical aspects

Lactose powder is a finely ground, homogeneous powder with a pure, light colour. It is virtually odourless, has a delicate milky taste and very low moisture, protein and ash content. It is characterised by high microbiological and technological stability, which allows for its wide industrial application.

Application

Lactose powder is widely used in the dairy, baking, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries. It is used as a sweetener, carrier of active substances, stabiliser and fermentation component in the production of yoghurts and cheeses. It is also ideal as an ingredient in instant products, nutritional supplements, tablets, capsules and specialised foods. Its high quality, low moisture content and neutral taste make it an extremely versatile raw material.

Feed-grade lactose is widely used in the nutrition of young animals, especially piglets and calves, due to its excellent digestibility and high energy content. It promotes the growth of beneficial intestinal microflora, particularly lactic acid bacteria, supports nutrient absorption, and enhances the taste and palatability of feed. This results in improved feed intake, better gut health, and optimal growth performance.

Storage

The product should be stored in a dry, cool and odourless place, preferably at a temperature of around 20°C. It is recommended to store in the original, tightly closed packaging.

Package

Lactose is available in sturdy 25 kg paper bags, which guarantee safe storage and transport conditions.
