Description

L-threonine (feed grade) 98.5% is a nutritional feed additive belonging to the functional group “amino acids, their salts and analogues”, authorised for use in animal nutrition under Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003. It is an essential (exogenous) amino acid that must be supplied in the diet.

The product is supplied as a white to light-brown powder or granulate of high purity. With a threonine content of at least 98.5% on a dry-matter basis, it features stable parameters in industrial applications.

Technical aspects

The product is characterized by its pure composition, stable chemical parameters, and controlled heavy metal content.

Application

L-threonine (feed grade) is used as a supplementary component in compound feed for farm animals. Its role is to supplement the threonine content of the formulation and to balance the amino acid profile of the feed against the animals’ requirements.

Threonine is one of the limiting amino acids in the nutrition of monogastric animals such as pigs and poultry, where its deficiency limits the utilisation of the remaining amino acids in the feed. Supplementing feed with L-threonine allows the amino acid supply to be matched to requirements without over-formulating on crude protein.

L-threonine is used in the production of complete feeds, concentrates and premixes. Due to its powder or granulate form and neutral chemical profile, it mixes well with other feed components, ensuring even distribution in the finished product.

Storage

The product should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. L-threonine feed must be protected from moisture, heat, and contamination to preserve its quality and effectiveness. When properly stored, the product has a shelf life of 2 years.

Package

The amino acid threonine is available in bulk packaging – both in smaller bags and in big bags. This form of packaging allows for convenient storage and transport in industrial conditions.
