Description

Psyllium, also known as plantago ovata husk, is a natural source of plant fibre. The raw material comes in the form of whole husks or powder, ranging in colour from light beige to dark brown, with a typical slightly slimy taste and smell.

Psyllium husks are characterised by a high content of soluble fibre, which swells on contact with water and forms a gel-like structure. This makes psyllium valuable in the production of functional foods and dietary supplements that support proper digestion.

Technical aspects

Psyllium is available in the form of husks or powder of high purity and natural origin. Its physicochemical parameters guarantee its stability and wide application in the food and dietetic industries.

Storage
