Description

L(+)-tartaric acid is an organic chemical compound belonging to the hydroxy acid group, found naturally in many fruits, especially grapes. This product is characterised by high purity (≥99.7%), which makes it a safe and effective food additive and ingredient in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

It is a crystalline, white powder, odourless and highly soluble in water. L(+)-tartaric acid has acidifying, stabilising and complexing properties, as well as specific optical activity. It complies with the quality and microbiological requirements for food and technical applications.

Technical aspects

Natural tartaric acid is a crystalline product with high chemical purity, a neutral odour and a mild, sour taste. Thanks to its low heavy metal content and excellent physicochemical parameters, it is a reliable ingredient in many industrial and food formulations.

Application

Tetracarbonic hydroxy dicarboxylic acid is widely used in the food industry as an acidity regulator, stabiliser and preservative in beverages, jams, jellies and baked goods. Thanks to its natural origin and high purity, it is particularly valued in clean label products.

In the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, it acts as a chelating agent and carrier for active substances. Tartaric acid is also used in chemical synthesis, cosmetics, electroplating processes and laboratory technologies.
