Description

L-arginine is an endogenous amino acid produced by fermentation from natural agricultural raw materials. The product comes in the form of white or white-brown crystals or crystalline powder with a characteristic odour and slightly distinctive taste.

In human nutrition, L-arginine plays a key role in protein synthesis and metabolic processes. It is valued for its support of the cardiovascular system, production of nitric oxide (NO) and its effect on the regeneration of the body and physical performance.

L-arginine has the chemical formula C₆H₁₄N₄O₂ and a molecular weight of 174.20. It is an L isomer (levorotatory) and is highly soluble in water (approx. 14.8 g/100 g at 25°C). It has an alkaline pH and a stable crystal structure, which ensures its stability under appropriate storage conditions.

Application

In the food and nutraceutical industry, it is used in the production of powders, capsules, tablets and functional beverages. Valued for its metabolic properties, it is also used in preparations supporting regeneration and cardiovascular health.
