Description

Choline chloride 60% is a nutritional feed additive belonging to the functional group of vitamins, pro-vitamins and chemically well-defined substances having a similar effect, authorised for use in animal nutrition under Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003. It is supplied as a fine, free-flowing powder of light-brown colour with a mild, characteristic choline odour.

The product has the form of a granulate with a medium-fine texture and high storage stability. The carrier is plant material of cereal origin, mainly corn cobs. With a choline content of min. 60% and a high degree of purity (min. 99%), it is readily soluble in water and alcohol.

Application

Choline chloride 60% is used in the feed industry as a vitamin additive (source of choline) in mineral-vitamin mixtures, premixes and feed concentrates. Its role is to supplement the choline content of the feed formulation for poultry, pigs and cattle.

Choline is a nutrient essential in the nutrition of monogastric animals, whose supply from basic feed materials is often insufficient. Supplementing feed with choline chloride allows the content of this nutrient to be matched to the animals’ requirements.

Storage

The shelf life of choline chloride 60% is 24 months when stored in closed bags at room temperature. Bags should be kept tightly closed and protected against moisture, use immediately.
