Description

Feed-grade maltodextrin is a purified carbohydrate product in powder form, obtained through the controlled hydrolysis of starch followed by spray drying. It is white to light yellow in colour, with a mildly sweet taste and a neutral aroma typical of processed starch. The powder has a uniform, free-flowing structure, without visible impurities.

Maltodextrin feed grade is characterised by high water solubility, good stability during storage and easy digestibility, making it suitable for use in animal nutrition. Owing to its functional properties, it is commonly applied as an energy source, carrier or technological component in feed formulations, supporting homogeneity and processing efficiency of compound feeds and premixes.

Application

In animal sector, maltodextrin is used as a cost-effective alternative to other carbohydrates as an energy source. It also improves the texture and flavor of feed, increases nutrient absorption, and reduces symptoms of dehydration and stress. It is widely used in lactating cows and weanling piglets.

Storage

Maltodextrin powder should be stored in a cool, dry and odour-free place at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture.
