Description

Citric acid anhydrous is an organic compound found naturally in citrus fruits. The product is a white, crystalline powder or colourless crystals and granules with an intensely sour taste and odourless character.

Thanks to its properties, citric acid is widely used in the food industry as an acidity regulator, preservative and antioxidant. It is also used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and many technical industries.

Technical aspects

Anhydrous citric acid comes in the form of white crystals, powder or granules. It is odourless and dissolves well in water, with a strongly acidic taste. It is characterised by a high degree of purity and low heavy metal content, which guarantees safety in food and industrial applications.

Application

In the food industry, citric acid is used as an acidity regulator (E330), preservative and antioxidant. It is added to beverages, confectionery, fruit preserves and other products to improve taste and shelf life.

In pharmacy and cosmetics, it acts as a stabiliser and pH regulator, and in industrial applications it is used, among other things, in detergents, cleaning agents and technical processes requiring chelating properties.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed container. Protect from moisture.

Package

Anhydrous citric acid is available in practical paper bags and big bags with a standard weight of 25 kg. Other industrial packaging formats are also available on request.
