Description

Whey permeate powder is a milk ingredient produced from pasteurised skimmed milk after ultrafiltration, during which proteins and fats are removed. It is then obtained by spray drying, which allows it to retain its uniform, free-flowing form. This product has a light cream to yellow colour and a typical whey aroma and taste, with no foreign notes or aftertaste.

Whey permeate powder contains a very high amount of lactose (min. 80%) with low fat and protein content, which makes it a valuable raw material with technological and functional properties. It is widely used as a sweetener, stabiliser, colouring agent or carrier in various branches of the food and feed industry.

Milk permeate is a free-flowing, highly soluble powder that may form small lumps that easily disintegrate under pressure. It is characterised by low moisture content, high lactose content and good microbiological purity. The product is stable, versatile, easy to store and transport.

Application

Filtered whey powder is used in baking, ice cream production, sauces, milk drinks and as a natural flavour enhancer in the food industry. Thanks to its high lactose content, milk permeate is also used as a fermentation agent, a carrier for bacterial cultures or an ingredient in feed mixtures. Powdered milk permeate is an economical and functional solution in recipes requiring low protein and fat content and high milk sugar content.

Milk permeate powder (feed grade) is used in animal nutrition as a source of easily digestible milk sugars, primarily lactose, which provides energy to young animals such as piglets and calves. Its natural sweetness improves feed intake and supports the development of beneficial gut microflora. It is also an economical component in prestarter and milk replacer formulations, facilitating the transition to solid feed after weaning.

Store in a clean, dry place at a maximum temperature of 25°C. Protect from sunlight and moisture.
