Description

Aspartame is an odourless, low-calorie intensive sweetener supplied in the form of a white crystalline granular powder. It is a chemically pure substance that contains no additives, preservatives or colourants. Due to its high sweetening power, aspartame is widely used as a sugar substitute in food and beverage formulations where reduced caloric value is required.

Technical aspects

Aspartame is approximately 200 times sweeter than sucrose, which allows for very small dosages to achieve the desired sweetness level. It provides a clean, sugar-like taste profile and is commonly used in combination with other sweeteners to enhance flavour balance and stability. Owing to its well-defined physicochemical properties and controlled purity, aspartame is suitable for regulated food applications.
