Description

Native corn starch (feed grade) is a feed material of plant origin, listed in the Catalogue of Feed Materials under Commission Regulation (EU) No 68/2013. It is a carbohydrate (polysaccharide) synthesised in plants, obtained from the wet milling of corn grain.

The product is supplied as a fine powder, ranging in colour from white to light yellow, odourless and with a characteristic flavour. It easily absorbs foreign scents and therefore requires appropriate storage conditions. Its uniform structure and neutral profile allow it to mix well with other feed components.

Application

Native corn starch is used in the feed sector as a carbohydrate feed material in feed mixtures for poultry, pigs, cattle and other farm animal species. It serves as a source of readily available energy in the feed formulation.

It is also used as a technological component in feed production – as a carrier and as a binding and filling component in mixtures, concentrates and premixes. Its neutral chemical profile ensures even distribution in the finished product.

Storage

Store in dry, well-ventilated rooms, away from chemicals and materials with a specific scent. As the product easily absorbs foreign scents, protect it from contact with aromatic materials.
