L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid that must be obtained from the diet, as the body cannot synthesise it on its own. It occurs as a white to slightly yellowish or light brown crystalline powder or granules with a neutral taste and odour.

The product is characterised by good solubility in water and stability under storage conditions. It is used in both the food and feed industries, where it plays an important role as a component supporting nutritional balance.

Application

The essential amino acid tryptophan is also used in the food and supplement industry as an ingredient in preparations supporting the nervous system, protein metabolism and the synthesis of serotonin and melatonin.

Storage

L-tryptophan should be stored in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place, in a tightly closed container, away from sunlight, heat and moisture.
