DL-methionine is an essential amino acid that must be supplied in the diet of animals because their bodies are unable to synthesise it on their own. The product is available in powder, crystalline powder or fine flakes, ranging in colour from white to light yellow, with a characteristic taste and odour.

As a key component of feed, DL-methionine plays an important role in metabolic processes, protein synthesis and the proper development of farm animals. It is used in the nutrition of pigs, poultry and cattle to improve growth, health and production efficiency.
